For Hannah Hellyer, growing the game of golf means much more than teaching kids how to swing a club.

As a PGA Professional and the founder of Futures Golf Academy in Bella Vista, Hannah is creating a place where young players can discover golf, build confidence, make friends, and find a community on the course.

But Hannah’s work is about more than numbers or scorecards. Through scholarships, clinics, ambassador programs, and junior leagues, she’s working to make golf feel accessible and inviting to families throughout Northwest Arkansas.

In this month’s feature, we meet a woman who is helping shape the next generation of golfers. Hannah is showing young athletes that there’s a place for them in the game.

Her story is one of passion, perseverance, and the belief that sometimes the best way to change a sport is simply opening the door wider.

The tournament’s kid center returns as a highly anticipated destination for children and parents alike during #NWAChampionship Week.

This year will feature a variety of elements to enhance the experience for families – including a covered golf viewing patio, a fully air-conditioned space, and healthy snacks.

You can also expect meaningful, confidence-building experiences for children, including activations from the First Tee – Northwest Arkansas, The Jones Center, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Scott Family Amazeum.

The Kids Confidence Club is free and open to the public Friday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Fassi’s Friends is working to create inclusion for kids of ALL abilities and backgrounds to come together to learn and grow the game of golf.

Maria Fassi, former Razorback golfer, and current LPGA Tour Professional offers inclusive and adaptable clinics to youth with opportunities geared to allow any child to participate.

The Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G is thrilled to partner with Fassi's Friends Junior Clinic as part of NWA Championship Week.

The clinic is on Tuesday, September 22 from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers. It’s open to kids 5-15 years of age and will include self-guided activity stations led by First Tee instructors as well as a Q&A, demonstration + autographs with Maria Fassi.
