For Sandra Bobo, hair has never really been just about hair.
After 22 years behind the chair, she has seen what can happen when a woman looks in the mirror and feels good about what she sees. Maybe she stands a little taller. Maybe she smiles a little bigger. Or maybe she simply sees a version of herself she has been missing for a while.
That feeling is a big part of what inspired Sandra to create The Vault Collection, her professional line of hair extensions created for stylists and everyday women.
“I wanted to offer beautiful, high-quality hair that gives women more than length or volume,” Sandra says. “It gives them confidence.”
As a longtime stylist, Sandra knew exactly what she wanted the collection to offer. Beautiful colors. Dependable quality. Natural-looking results. And just as importantly, education and connection.
She is still very involved in every part of the collection, from the colors and lengths offered to how the hair actually performs behind the chair.
And while extensions can absolutely give a woman longer or fuller hair, Sandra believes what happens internally can be just as meaningful.
“My goal isn't to change someone,” she says. “It's to enhance what is already there.”
Sandra understood the power of that confidence long before The Vault Collection ever existed.
Years ago, she knew a mother going through an incredibly difficult time who had lost some of her confidence along the way. Before an important court appearance, Sandra offered to do her hair and makeup.
“I didn't have much myself at the time, but I had a skill I could give,” Sandra remembers.
Seeing what that small act did for another woman stayed with her.
It also helped shape something that is now an important part of The Vault Collection. A portion of the brand's sales helps provide hair-service vouchers to women who could use that extra boost of confidence.
For Sandra, that may be the most meaningful part of what she is building.
As The Vault Collection continues to grow, she hopes to reach more women, educate more stylists and expand the giving-back side of the business.
Because at the end of the day, Sandra wants women to leave with more than beautiful hair.
“I want women to feel beautiful, confident and seen,” she says. “I want her to walk away with her chin up.”
