Spotlight: The Amazeum Is Bringing the Wonder of Play Beyond Its Walls

The Scott Family Amazeum is taking its playful approach to learning beyond the museum through its new Learning + Design Group, a professional service that helps educators and community partners create hands-on, curiosity-driven experiences in public spaces.
The group combines two areas of expertise: the Learning Practice, which supports play-based, inquiry-driven and STEAM-rich education through professional development and consultation, and the Design Practice, which turns ideas into interactive physical experiences through prototyping, fabrication and installation.
Northwest Arkansas families may already have encountered the group's work. The XNA Wonder Wing transformed a former moving walkway corridor into an interactive space where travelers can explore and learn about flight. Other projects include hands-on STEAM initiatives in local schools and Rainbow Springs, an interactive public art installation in downtown Bentonville.
This partnership hopes to create more places where people of all ages can discover, create and connect.
