For Northwest Arkansas resident Chad and his sons, Rivers and Micah, attending a FIFA World Cup match in Kansas City was more than just a soccer game. It was an unforgettable family adventure.
What started with a lucky lottery ticket selection back in December turned into a once-in-a-lifetime experience as they made their way to Kansas City, navigated the city buses, and joined thousands of fans from around the world for the match between Argentina and Algeria.
“The whole trip was an adventure,” Chad said. “From getting the tickets to figuring out transportation and finally walking into the stadium, it was incredible.”
For the boys, the highlight was watching soccer superstar Lionel Messi score a hat trick in person.
“It was exhilarating,” they said.

Beyond the action on the field, Rivers and Micah were captivated by the passion of the fans. They loved seeing supporters proudly representing their countries, waving flags, singing songs, and standing together to hear the national anthems before kickoff.
For this soccer-loving family, the trip created memories they will talk about for years to come and reminded them how sports can bring people together from all corners of the world.
Thank you to the Pomietlo family for sharing their experience with us.
