Peekaboo’s 2026 Women in Medicine Honorees

Each September, Women in Medicine Month creates an opportunity to recognize the contributions women are making throughout healthcare.
This year also brings the inaugural National Women in Medicine Day on September 17, a day centered on visibility, leadership, progress and the ways women are helping shape the future of care.
At Peekaboo, we wanted to bring that conversation home. We asked our community and local healthcare organizations to nominate women whose work is making a meaningful difference in Northwest Arkansas.
The six women selected represent very different corners of healthcare. They are improving systems, expanding access, mentoring future providers, building the programs our region needs, and caring for patients and families during some of their most vulnerable moments.

Dr. Adrienne Koder is helping expand pediatric orthopedic care while making sure young patients feel seen and heard. She changes lives by getting kids back to the things they love. Read More →
Navigating the hardest parts of life has taught Dr. Jessica Sliger resolve and empathy. She’s now charting a new path through pediatric dentistry, advocacy and education, with a special focus on whole-child care. Read More →
A life-changing moment propelled Juli McWhorter from the nurse’s station to the board room. As CEO, she leads the hospital while continuing to view healthcare through the eyes of the families and frontline caregivers. Read More →
Before Dr. Kasia Kania, there were no practicing breast microsurgeons in the state of Arkansas. She saw that significant gap and helped build the program, systems and teams needed to bring advanced care closer to women in our region. Read More →

For families navigating childhood’s many milestones, having the right support can make all the difference. That’s where Pediatrics Plus comes in.
With locations across Arkansas, Pediatrics Plus provides specialized care designed to help children grow, learn, communicate, and thrive.
The organization offers physical, occupational, and speech-language therapy, as well as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), early intervention, developmental preschool, and counseling and diagnostic services. What makes the approach unique is the way those services come together in environments designed specifically for children. Families can access care through outpatient clinics, developmental preschools, and even farm-based settings.
At its heart, Pediatrics Plus is all about giving children the tools, encouragement, and environment they need to conquer their world, and giving families a team to walk alongside them along the way.
